Unexpected turn of events

After 8 months we have come to find that our little Ruby June had a prenatal stroke and that is why she has had such a difficult time using her right arm and had a weakness in her right leg.  After a day trip to Stanford Children's neurology center we didn't get all the answers we wanted but finally got a few.  Finding she had a stroke was not at all what I wanted to hear and I am actually quite shocked.  I had been asking the pediatrician all along about her hand and they just said she was a lefty and finally I got a 3rd opinion and was then referred to the neurologist who thinks it was a stroke.  So now the real adventure begins of physical and occupational therapy for my 8 month old little girl.  All the things that may or may not happen during the course of her development was quite a blow.  It was as if all the things you dream of for your child suddenly are put on hold or wiped away, replaced with a feeling of uncertainty.  Will this happen again, could it get worse, could she have seizures, is this genetic and likely for future children??  So many unanswered questions.  I am going to try to update this and maybe another parent who is going through this could find some comfort in knowing they are not alone.
